Sometimes you need more than just a routine cleaning.
Do you have any concerns about your teeth or oral health? Or do you just want to practice good preventative care? A comprehensive exam can provide an answer to any dental questions you may have. And the ones you didn’t know to ask.
A comprehensive exam is a deep dive into your oral health. More than just a routine cleaning, our Tyler dentist will spend time ensuring your overall mouth is as healthy as possible.
Here’s what’s involved:
Patient consultation
Dr. Josh de Graffenried will take time to learn about any questions and concerns you have about your mouth. He will also discuss the history of your dental health. This may include previous surgeries, oral diseases, medications you take, and more.
Our goal is to help you develop a plan to achieve the best oral health possible.
Oral exam and cleaning
Dr. Josh will carefully examine your mouth for cavities, tooth decay, signs of gum disease, or other issues. He will also perform a complete dental cleaning.
X-rays
All comprehensive exams also include x-rays. This allows your dentist to see deep inside your teeth and jaw to determine if there are any hidden cavities or possible concerns beneath the surface.
Disease screening
Finally, we will look for any early signs of gum disease, oral cancer, TMJ, or other oral problems.
